+350 animals for Unstoppable Domains
This project started as a domain giveaway featuring animal names and quickly became a huge customer success. People loved their personalized domain names paired with unique illustrations. Some even used their animals as mascots for their businesses, memes, or to design funny merch – like atomicfox.crypto.
The campaign not only increased site visits and drove new domain purchases, but also strengthened the company’s reputation within the cryptocurrency community.
What began with just 20 animals eventually grew into a collection of over 350, plus 100 adjective-based variations. You can explore them here:
I needed to create a consistent illustration style and make the animals extremely cute yet emotionally neutral. They also had to be both templated and unique at the same time – and (!) we didn’t have time for proper detailed work. I really enjoyed this project as a big challenge, full of fun, and probably the weirdest way to learn almost all animal names in English.
After creating the first 150 animals, I came up with 100 different states for one of them. So you can see here the fatal fox, lucky fox, fiery fox, and more.
Someday, this collection could easily be expanded to include all animal illustrations the company has so far, allowing a huge number of new domain name covers to be created quickly.
